AABF EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE AND GENERAL COUNCIL MEETING
Venue: NDOLA, ZAMBIA Date: FEB 10 – 15 2020
Greetings from All Africa Baptist Fellowship (AABF) office, Ibadan, Nigeria. I want to use this medium to
give you the following information about the Executive & General Council meetings coming up in Ndola,
Zambia on February 10 – 15, 2020.
The theme for the programme is, “Go Make Disciples” (Matt 28:19).
B. Outlined Programmes
The following outlined programmes would be held consecutively
1. AABF Regional Chairmen and Department Heads’ Retreat
2. AABF Executive Committee
3. AABF General Council Meeting
4. AABF Leadership Training Programme for Zambia Baptist Leaders
5. Ecumenical Synergy
1. AABF Regional Chairmen and Department Heads Retreat – Feb 10
The meeting is for chairmen of AABF Sub-Regions and Presidents of Auxiliary bodies (Men, Women, and
Youth). The duration of the meeting is one day.
2. AABF Executive Committee Meeting – Feb 11
This is a statutory meeting of EC members. The duration of the meeting is one day.
3. AABF General Council Meeting – Feb 12 – 14
The General Council comprises all Presidents and General Secretaries of AABF member Conventions and
Unions or their representatives. The meeting holds for two full days and then a morning session for
closing. During the two full days, there will be time for teachings, seminars, discussions and business
meeting. The BWA General Secretary, Elijah Brown will be in attendance. The new Africa Area Director
for American Baptist International Ministries, Karen Smith will also be attending to interact with partner
conventions and unions of International Ministries.
4. AABF Leadership Training Programme – Feb 14
AABF Leadership Training Programme is a capacity building program. It is specifically designed to equip
apex leaders, pastors, deacons, lay leaders and church officers in ministry areas to enhance their
performance in ministry. The training programme is exclusively for leaders of the host
conventions/unions in Zambia. Topics to be taught would be jointly determined by the host conventions/unions and AABF. Interested EC/GC members can also be part of the training.
5. Ecumenical Synergy – Feb 14
Since 2018, AABF began the practice of meeting with leaders of Christian faith in countries that host any of our meetings. This meeting is often used to rob minds together, share burdens and sensitize one another as apex leaders in the body of Christ in Africa. It usually last for one or two hours.

The venue is Zambia Baptist Association Secretariat and Conference Center, Ndola-Kitwe Road, Opposite Levy Mwanawasa Stadium, Ndola Zambia.
